The Battleships Cometh are four young Boston-area musicians who came together around a shared love of propulsive, hard-hitting music and cemented as a band in the Summer of 2008 when a loud, spontaneous cover of "Immigrant Song" in their guitarist's basement left them happily spent. Since then, the group has built a loyal following around the city with relentlessly energetic performances, delivering an explosive mix of deep grooves, guitar acrobatics, infectious hooks, and charged female vocals. In February 2010, they released "Repeated Kicks," a debut EP that crackles with the same unbridled urgency as their live show.

There was a freak electrical storm. It was a highly stressful and dangerous situation. When we emerged at the end, we could play instruments, and had become startlingly attractive. Just lucky, I guess.
